Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant in Huntington

Dropped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. There were eight tables with people and two waitresses. We waited twenty minutes before she asked for our drink order and it was another 30 minutes before we got our food. When I finally got my food it was wrong and my chimichangas were soggy. Not worth the aggravation and money.

Staff is much better than a couple months ago. Food is amazing and it still has that Mexican vibe

Pretty good food but lacks the flavor of a top notch restaurant.

The queso is amazing!

Food was excellent!! Had steak fajitas and it was a generous portion of meat and veggies. Only negative was the cleanliness of the bathrooms and lack of paper towels and toilet paper, we had to use napkins and there weren't a lot of those either.

Thursdays are $1.50 imports and $1.00 domestics. The newly remodel Rio Grande is very nice inside. The new servers are very friendly and great. And now they have craft beer on tap. Very impressed with the changes.

We go there about once a week and usually order the same thing - I get the jumbo burrito with mushrooms instead of beans and wife gets gets vegetarian mix. It's always good...

Gnats, gnats, gnats they were everywhere! My bowl that the salsa came in was dirty with dried food on the side. Lets not mention the menu was worn badly and smelled of old rags, like mildew! Lastly no one , not even the cooks or waitress had on a mask following the guidelines! Eat at your own risk, I left before I consumed anything! Health department must still be closed!

Food was ok I guess. The service was lousey. Female waitress we had was terrible. She gave a look when I asked her for more salsa. Then the sour cream was extra that's just crazy. U always have sour cream with Mexican food at least I do anyhow.

We went Saturday eavng around 7,02/22/2020,food was ok!!but had to be the worst service ever!! waiters didn't even check to see if our food was good,never even checked on us at all,,,we will never go back,,,

Honestly me and my bf come here maybe twice a week, I love the atmosphere and ppl and service, my food is always well made and fresh, great prices and specials, drinks are delicious, I have nothing bad to to say at all!

Never again. I don't like leaving a negative review for anything, but I'm done with this place. For the last 6 months or so, I've eaten here for lunch once a week. When i first started going, they had my favorite beer, food was good, prices good, and service was good. For the past 2 months they have consistently gotten worse. The beer I like is always "out at the moment". I order lunch portion, i get served dinner portion (this may be due to the fact that servers only last about 2 weeks and don't know the menu). I order the same thing and my tab is never the same (as much as $5-$7 difference). And the flies! The little fruit flies, or whatever they are, started becoming a problem a while back. I didn't really mind it until today. I killed at least 8 or 9. They were in my water, my beer, around my food, everywhere.

Place was nasty! I had a gnat in my drink. (Which I was charged for!) Waiters tried their best. Do not waste time there.

OK place for Mexican food but you can do better for the same price.

The place is great, server was awesome but the chicken taco salad was terrible. Mostly lettuce, the bottom was watery and the chicken was bland.

I have been going here for years and used to enjoy their food. Recently we have been ordering in. There were a few issues last time but we chalked it up to just a bad day. Tonight, we placed an order on eatstreet at 7:55pm. It said the the order was out for delivery at 8:42 and even though it was supposed to be there by 8:55, we gave them some time before calling to check the order. At 9:17 I called and a lady said someone was supposed to call and tell me they couldn't find someone to deliver it so it was cancelled. She suggested I check with eat street and had no answer as to why it said it was prepared and out for delivery. Had they called and told us the situation, we could have picked it up. I feel like the customer service continues to slide and there are other options for Mexican that still care about their consumers.

Very well priced lunch specials, but bad service. The unsweetened tea is almost always spoiled. I would get charged different rates for the same lunch special and sometimes receive different items than what I had actually ordered. The service is just terrible, and I can't go back anymore.

DON'T DO TAKE OUT!!! I'm VERY unhappy that I paid $30, and only my husband got to eat dinner. The receipt showed our correct order, but we got back to our hotel and discovered that 2 desserts & 1 of the dinners were missing. Also, the vegetarian meal was prepared w/ beef. I called Rio Grande, and the owner offered to replace the missing food the next day, but we couldn't make it before we left town.

Ordered pickup and called me while i was on my way and told me they were going to leave my food sitting outside the restaurant cause they were closing (Cause that’s safe). And they didn’t give me my queso

Omg! Worst service ever. Never came over. Got other people before us. Didn't even care when we left. Avoid this place at all cost, you will be happier any place else.

Good food. But "management" is terrible. He talks down to and disrespects servers right in front of customers. There is a reason why there are no consistent server's at this establishment.

Don’t eat here! First of all no one had a mask on , not even the staff. The table was dirty and the menu smelled like an old dirty mop! There were gnats everywhere, after I killed three my stomach started to turn and I knew it was time to go ! To Margaritas we went !

Don’t eat here. Go to margaritas instead!! The service here is so slow. The servers are sitting at the bar watching friends. I have needed a refill for 15 minutes now. My friend didn’t get her lettuce, sour cream, or guacamole that she asked for. Disappointed.

Food is always so good AND they have a variety of .99 ¢ shots. (Wish they had black beans!)

Amazing experience. The Jumbo taco was so big I couldn't even eat it all and for a good price at that. I would suggest this establishment to all of my friends. 5 Star Ratings for sure.

Went on a Monday when the Frozen Lime Margaritas were 0.99¢. Delicious, and perfect with the Chori Pollo..

We ordered takeout. Food was very good. Was ready in less than 10 minutes. The girl that took my order was ok, however Some of the other wait staff could use a lesson in phone courtesy.

They have taco Tuesdays and tacos are only a dollar....And they have drink specials also.... good food good service gray place to go to enjoy your self and your company
